WHEATON, IL — Three cars were burglarized and seven bikes were stolen in the span of less than a week in Wheaton in late July, according to a recent crime blotter. Two Cars Burglarized in 900 Block Santa Rosa Avenue A GPS device and a pair of sunglasses were stolen when two unlocked cars were burglarized in a driveway in the 900 block of Santa Rosa Avenue. The incident took place sometime between 10 p.m. on July 22 and 12 p.m. on July 23. Bike Stolen from Rack in Kelly Park Police say an unlocked black Schwinn bicycle was stolen from a bike rack in Kelly Park, 1100 South Main Street sometime between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on July 22. Car Burglarized in 600 Block East Evergreen Street A resident told police their unlocked car was burglarized sometime between 9 p.m. on July 23 and 9 a.m. on July 24, while it was parked in a driveway at the above address. A parking placard and license plates were reported stolen. Bike Stolen from Rack near Liberty Drive and Wheaton Avenue An unlocked green and black Trek mountain bike was stolen from a bike rack at the above address. The theft took place sometime between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. on July 18. 5 Bikes Stolen from Bike Corral in 1300 block South Lorraine Road Five locked bikes were stolen from a bike corral at an apartment complex on South Lorraine Road, according to the city's recent police blotter. The bikes were stolen sometime between 7 a.m. on July 23 and 7:30 p.m. on July 24.
