REDONDO BEACH, CA — An Inglewood man was charged Wednesday with sexually assaulting a woman who was targeted and followed while walking her dog in Redondo Beach.
Edwin Alberto Donissuchite, 21, is facing one felony count each of sexual penetration by use of force and assault with intent to commit a felony, along with a misdemeanor count of sexual battery by touching an intimate part of another, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
He pleaded not guilty Wednesday.
The victim was attacked just after 7:45 p.m. Monday while walking with her dog in the 500 block of Diamond Street, according to the Redondo Beach Police Department.
A witness saw what happened and ran to help her while detaining the suspect until police arrived, police said. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
Donissuchite is due back in a Torrance courtroom Aug. 18, when a date is scheduled to be set for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to allow the case against him to proceed to trial.
