NEW LENOX, IL — This year's Illinois Run for the Fallen will honor Army soldiers from New Lenox who died during post-9/11 conflicts. The free 1-mile run/walk is scheduled to take place from 7 a.m.-noon at Charleston High School Track, 920 Smith Drive in Charleston. Army Cpl. Phillip J. Brodnick and Army Spc. Jacob M. Lowell, both of new Lenox, are included among those who will be remembered and honored for their sacrifice, along with other service members from across the area, according to a new release from Illinois Run for the Fallen. Participants can run or walk in honor of a loved one or may have a service member assigned to them at check-in. To register, go to charlestonillinois.org and click on the "Run for the Fallen" tab. People can also register in person the day of the event. For those who would like to participate but cannot make it to Charleston, a virtual option will be available on the Illinois Run for the Fallen website.
