MANHATTAN, IL — Manhattan Park District Tee-ballers got a special treat to end their season: They got to go on the field at the Joliet Slammers game Aug. 3 to meet players, get autographs and join in the singing of the national anthem at DuPage Medical Field. We decided as a team to attend a Joliet Slammers game as an end of the year outing," said coach Kevin Brocious. "We finished up a 10-week spring/summer schedule of practices and games. We thought it would be fun to all attend a baseball game, and the kids had a blast going to the field pregame for the national anthem. It was a fun outing for all the parents and kids." Manhattan Park District Tee-baller Molly Keshan runs out on the field with Joliet Slammers infielder Tyler Depreta-Johnson prior to the start of the game Aug. 3.
