HIGHLAND PARK, IL — Police said two neighbors were hospitalized Wednesday morning after a late-night melee in Highland Park.
Highland Park police and fire personnel were dispatched to the 3500 block of Western Avenue around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a fight, according to statement.
They found two injured people, with ambulances taking one to Highland Park Hospital and the other to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
According to the police, two neighbors appear to have had some kind of dispute with each other that resulted in the injuries. Neither person has been arrested or charged with a crime.
"The incident remains under investigation and will be reviewed with the Lake County State's Attorney's Office upon its conclusion," police said. "More information will be shared if the investigation and review results in criminal charges."
In the statement, police described the injuries as "non-life threatening" but have yet to respond to inquiries about reports that one of the participants was stabbed and the other was hit in the head by some kind of object.
