Full-time, Work Days are M-F, Hours are 7:00am - 4:30pm Rate of pay is $17.82/hr A qualifying disability is required for this position. A qualifying disability may be a result of injury, disease or congenital defect which limits the person's functional capabilities We are in need of a Grounds Worker for our Ventura Naval Base contract who is able to: • Complete grounds maintenance requirements as specified in the base contract. • Perform routine cleaning, preventative maintenance and minor repair tasks on tools and equipment as required. • Safely operate hand tools and power tools commonly utilized in grounds maintenance operations. • Prune shrubs, hedges and vines including cleanup and debris removal. Education & Experience: • No minimum education required • Knowledge of grounds maintenance tools i.e. backpack blower, hedge trimmer, line trimmer etc. • Must have communication skills, self-management skills, and reasoning ability. • Must be able to meet and maintain requirements to obtain entrance onto Naval Base Ventura County. • Must have a valid driver's license with an insurable record. Other Skills and Abilities: • Must be willing and able to work up to 8 hours per shift. • Must be able to work in varying weather conditions, shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
