Look up The Brendas on all streaming. The songs are from three years ago, and they’re the worst ones we have, like how bands grow. They’re songs I had written already and this started as just a backing band for my limited songwriting/old vocal habits. But the styles are disparate enough to get an idea. This band has grown into a true colab and as a result the skill tree is growing. Nowadays we write as a group, and the ten or so new songs weve got now, we would say we love. Styles from wall of sound proto punk to Indy with jazz chords to Replacements alt shit to rock and roll et al. Influences: Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Sam Cooke, Clash, The Band, Strokes, Townes Van Zandt, big and small guitar sounds from multiple eras, shit, nowadays anything is fair game really. Ideally, we’re looking for proficiency in a wide range of complimentary styles, which now vary even more song to song. Input on songs is of course welcome; best idea in the room wins. We rehearse on Wednesday nights in Fuquay in a very big space. Provide amplification please; though a PA with in-ears is on the shopping list. Shows and merch are goals; none of us are strangers to a stage, though at present creative fulfillment is the defacto mindset. We also track our own stuff and have the gear to do it well.
