SUMMARY Assists in shop activities by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES other duties may be assigned. Loads and unloads materials, parts, or products onto or from pallets, skids, conveyors, or trucks. Loads parts onto storage racks and into bins. Delivers parts or stock to designated work areas for machining. Must have valid driver license, as well as a clean driving record, when driving company vehicles. Delivers parts to job sites. Assist in light fabrication of fire sprinkler pipe & fittings. Forklift experience a plus Others Supervised: none MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must have ability to drive to and from job sites, company meetings etc. • Walking: Rarely walk one to two miles at a time on uneven ground. More common maximum distance walked is 1/4 to 1/2 mile. Total walking per shift is 30% - 50%. • Lifting/Carrying: 0-10 lbs. - Continuous; 11-20 lbs - Continuous; 21-50 lbs. - often worker carries boxes of substation materials or equipment. • Standing: The worker stands on dirt, concrete, asphalt, or solid floors for 20% of the work day. • Climbing: Climbs hills and walks over uneven ground while carrying equipment. • Driving: The worker operates a vehicle to and from jobsites for 60%-90% of the work day Ability to lift 50lbs. Ability to drive company vehicle, including valid driver’s license and clear Western Fire Protection's auto insurance company's requirements. Ability to deliver machinery, pipe, and parts to jobsites, including walking up stairs with these items. Ability to operate machinery. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work environment is essentially working in a shop, including standing and walking on shop floor. In addition some time may be spent driving and delivering parts to job sites.
