Mini-Aussie seen at Village Plaza Loop

4750 Village Plaza Loop near Goodpasture Island Road, Eugene OR

Very small Mini-Aussie was spotted today, at about 11 am, outside a dentist' office at 4750 Village Plaza Loop, right near the ramps to Delta Highway at Goodpasture Island Road. I was halfway to the door and saw something move between bushes, thought I saw a tail, and thinking it was a cat, I walked slowly toward the bushes it was behind. As I poked my head around, so did the pup and it was VERY small, maybe 14" tall and clearly had at least one blue eye. It's a merle colored very small Mini-Aussie. It was very fast and skittish and zipped off toward the trees before I could get a photo, despite my going toward the driveway to try to see it better. I drove around the buildings after my appointment, but I didn't see it again. There are lots of bushes behind those buildings, and it could easily get down to the cloverleaf fields below the road. This location is also very easily accessible to the Ruth Bascom Willamette River bike/pedestrian path, too, so it could have reached this location from many directions. I plan to go back out in the early morning to see if I can spot it again and will take dog treats in case I do see it, and can leave something for it to eat. Photo here is NOT THIS DOG! But, it's as close as I could find.
