San Francisco and East Bay Families - set your schedule with me! I'm Alex and I've chosen to swap the classroom for the counselor's chair, but in no way have given up on my love of language acquisition. There's an undeniable sense of magic in a student when comprehension and confidence emerge. I will be transferring my classroom training to a new independent structure in small groups or one on one sessions. Students learn language by listening to input, a lot of input. We speak primarily in Spanish in a manageable way that makes the experience more of a puzzle rather than a tutoring session. Together we work as a team to put one image into the mind of another. Imagine working with your toddler - we use our hands, references, imagery, and more to make each experience comprehensible. Students will learn to listen, read, then write through story telling and asking.
