Looking for a doggie

Hello, I'm looking for a puppy or a young dog. I would prefer a small male dog (5-25lbs), (hypoallergenic if possible but not necessary.) I am moving into an apartment alone soon and I'd love to have a furry companion to keep me company. I work from home so they'll get a lot of attention. I'm also a very active person and I wouldn't mind an early morning, late night or anywhere in between, walk/run. I would like to mention that I have owned previous small dogs before (miniature poodle, toy dachshund) & I have experience with training and caring for a small dog. I have tried with shelters and rescues but I've been having a hard time getting through to the adoption process and I'm hoping someone here has something to offer. I'm willing to pay a rehoming fee if it's not too expensive, as I am only a college student and I have other things to pay. With that being said, I do make enough monthly to afford a dog in the long run and can pay for unexpected troubles but I've only saved up enough to adopt. I am also willing to make a long drive to pick up the dog if needed and within a 2 hour drive. I do live in the Denver area near downtown but will be moving to FoCo in about two weeks.
