TurfMaker Corporation is a manufacturing company, based in Rowlett, Texas. We engineer, design, manufacture, and assemble hydroseeders and strawblowers. We are looking for an experienced sandblaster to work day shift. The hours are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM Monday through Friday. Occasionally we do work over time and Saturdays depending on our customers’ needs. Key responsibilities Operates sand blasting equipment to process a variety of metal parts to remove scale, corrosion, dirt and other foreign matter Select the proper abrasive, adjust and set air pressure and equipment as required for the job at hand Ensure proper set up of blasting equipment Maintain an adequate supply of abrasive and keep all equipment in working condition Abide by all safety regulations, including proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Assist with other jobs when assigned Maintain clean, orderly work space Qualifications and Education Requirements 1 or more years of blasting experience Thorough knowledge of blasting equipment, blasting media and principles of operation. Knowledge of and ability to recognize metal types, common thicknesses and tensile properties. Basic knowledge of, and ability to communicate and understand work instructions. Ability to wear full body PPE including blast helmet. Must have active listening skills and possess good deductive reasoning skills We are looking for a candidate who takes pride in his/her work. Must demonstrate the ability to stay on task while performing repetitive or repeating tasks. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
