Individuals and groups are invited to participate in retreats and other programs offered in a spirit-rekindling environment of well-being, respect, and harmony. Cranaleith is a ministry of the Sisters of Mercy located in the Somerton neighborhood of Philadelphia. Cranaleith is offering a position for an experienced facilities maintenance and grounds professional with flexible hours that range from full-time to part-time seasonally throughout the year. Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, this person will perform a wide variety of tasks associated with operations, general maintenance, and repair across a ten-acre campus that includes historic and modern buildings, large trees, open space, and a pond. Responsibilities require the exercise of independent judgement and good time management. This position includes the supervision of construction and renovation projects, as well as the supervision of part-time groundskeeper/beekeeper. Education: • High School Diploma or equivalent Experience & Qualifications: • Must be 18 years of age with experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. • Minimum 3 years experience in maintenance, repair and grounds required. • Valid Driver’s license is required. • Supervisory experience preferred. • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work outside in various weather conditions for long periods of time. Job Responsibilities: • Supervise all construction and renovation projects, including grounds maintenance/improvement projects and routine building maintenance/improvement projects. • With the Operations Manager, maintain a schedule of maintenance vendor appointments, including security, tree maintenance, vehicle inspections, and more. • Maintain the Cranaleith grounds in terms of aesthetics and safety for all staff, volunteers, and guests. • Perform various facilities upkeep tasks, including routine lawn mowing, landscaping and snow removal. • Supervise part-time groundskeeper/beekeeper. • Work with Operations Manager/Volunteer Coordinator to supervise gardens and grounds volunteers, including Eagle Scouts. • Maintain an atmosphere of hospitality and welcome for all guests.
