Fortec Forestry is hiring reforestation laborers in Douglas & Coos County. (Roseburg/Sutherlin & Coos Bay/North Bend proximity) $18.90 / Hour Approximately 8 hours per day. Monday-Friday. *(Occasional Saturday work available)* Reforestation practices include: * Seedling tree planting - Climbing and safely navigating various terrain grades and slash debris. Commonly carrying heavy weight in specialty planting bags around waist. (100-120 trees / 50-60lb average). * Herbicide Application - Handling and applying multiple types of Herbicides through direct “Hack-and-Squirt” and broadcast applications (Backpack pump spray). Applicants will be provided training and licensing prior to handling chemicals. * Pile burning / Fire trailing - Using drip torches and open flame to ignite debris piles. Possible brush clearing & fire trail building prior to scheduled broadcast burning. * Site improvement & Misc. - Assorted road clearing, trapping, pruning, etc. *Must be willing to work in a wide variety of weather conditions and complete tasks in a safe manner. A great opportunity to be outdoors. Commonly working in crew sizes varying from 6-12 people. Must be able to meet in designated in-town locations each morning.
