Job Summary: The Production Machine Operator will provide the necessary support in operations and maintenance to the associated equipment, so the team is able to produce raw feedstock for granulation production and clean steel in the safest, most efficient manner. This technician role is key to the optimization for the equipment to run efficiently. Supervisory Responsibilities: • None. Duties/Responsibilities: • Comply with all safety requirements • Schedules and performs maintenance with or without mechanic on all equipment • Schedules and performs knife changes on Rasper or Granulators • Optimize production • Loading of feed hoppers • Moving product finished and staged with forklifts • Daily housekeeping responsibilities • Maintain production area • Keep equipment clean and orderly following prescribed safety regulations • Assist with all aspects of R & G as needed. • Performs any unskilled job at the plant. • Reports any issues to supervisor or higher-level employee. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: • Good verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions. • Must be able to lift up to and including fifty (50) pounds on a routine basis and (75+) pounds occasionally (assisted only). Education and Experience: • Previous experience preferred. • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. • Mechanical background in production Physical Requirements: • The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud when operations are in process. Light levels will be experience during periods in which the machines are not operational. Employee will be subject to weather conditions, not limited to rain, wind and heat and cold. Employees are required to wear protective equipment (PPE) as assigned by their designated work area.
