Description

He is about 5 years old. Indoor cat, never been outside (so youd have to take the time to get him used to it) and update his rabies. All other shots are done. Hes never been around another cat except his housemate who doesnt like him. Hes a cool funny cat as far as personality, but not the most loveable. He doesnt really like to be picked up much and is sorta a loner. He likes to greet you when you come home and he will sleep on your bed but he likes to just be left to himself for the most part unless hes in the mood to be pet lol. He will be all over you when hes in a good mood but then he goes back to his quiet private loner dude self. Whoever adopts him must understand this about him. Hes not some loveable aloof family cat. Definatly not a lap cat. He doesnt like strangers so when you have company he will go hide for the most part. Hes ok with dogs as we have one hes been raised with -but he thinks he is a dog so he will run and chase dogs and scratch out at them if they touch him. Hes fearless of large animals. Its odd. Hes litter trained -of course. Used to having his nails clipped, though he hates it. Eats anything -not picky on food brands. Gets along with other cats -though hes a more dominant male so even though hes nuetered, he still “tries”, lol. Hes got all his shots and a recent booster. Like I said a rabies shot is due, nothing else. They give them free at any of the Petco Pet Clinics. Youd have to call Petco for the rabies clinic dates/times. OR there are free rabies clinics for all pets every year! Call your town for schedule. Though hes a loner dude- he will be fine with other cats after they warm up to eachother, but small kids he wont tolerate well. They will get hurt if they try to pick him up or grab at him. If you have kids it could be tougher for you. If you have small grandkids that come over he will probably go hide but should be monitered around them. If you babysit in any way- moniter always. He has times where he will go hide and sleep for an entire day. You wont find him and get worried. lol. Then just like that he comes walking out from under the couch like nothing happened. Its actualy funny. I nick named him Mr Cool Hes a weird cat, what can I say. lol I have another female cat who is spayed and he will not stop trying to get her from “behind”. So shes always screaming and avoids him. Its been irritating for sure. I have a much older dog who is in palative care now and the cat has decided to follow her all over the house and wont let her rest. Im sure he might sense her condition, but its driving the dog mad, and Im afraid the cat might get hurt by the dog if he approaches her any closer. He will walk up to her dry food and eat it right in front of her. She sits in amazement as do I. Hes so bold!! Its been an ongoing issue to chase him away from the dog, and her food and then listen to my other cat constantly screaming at him for chasing her and trying to “get her from behind” every move she makes. lol Though I appreciate hes a brute and masculine cat- hed truly be best in a quiet home, where noone will be trying to pick him up all the time, where he can run and play as hes still young, maybe another cat or a couple cats he can play with, where he can hang out watching tv with you but for the most part just be let me. This is not a sweet quiet layed back farm cat. Hes more a pet me when I want to be pet and leave me be to myself the rest of the time cat. I cant make this more clear. lol The perfect house for him would have no small kids, no dog, either another male cat he cant try to get from behind, or being the only cat. Someone who understands his personality and will take the time to let him come to you. He would do well in ANY household with kids or dogs- as long as he can escape them. If you have a large house or apartment or a farm youll be fine. If you stick him in a tiny place with kids or dogs- your asking for trouble so why bother. lol Once you bond and he trusts you- youll discover hes a smart funny cat. He loves to eat dry food all day. I dont limit his food. He has a high metabolism so hes lean. He doesnt get fat. Ive tried. lol. He burns off his food with constant playing and patrolling of the house. I clip his mails once a month myself. Not fun. He has NEVER scratched furniture because hes always had scratching posts. He will come with a large scratching post, food, dishes, and all vet records. Dont take this cat if your life is temporary here, youll ship him to another home once your schooling is done, or your not allowed to have pets and if hes discovered he will have to move again OR ANY SITUATION that wont be good for him. If you plan on opening the door and letting him go out for the day and finding him at night when you get home- please dont take him either. Unless you live on a farm and aclimate him to the barns and being outside- then that will become his normal. I dont want him to roam the city streets. He will do well in an apartment or a house. If you think your a good fit for this Black and White Tuxedo male cat, please let me know. Maybe you know of a good home? My female cat cant tolerate him, and my elderly dog must be able to live out her last year in peace without being bothered by him. Hes a great funny cat- but a weird cat to. lol
