PRIMARY PURPOSE: Performs landscape maintenance and installation work on the golf course and surrounding areas. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS: - Operates walking mowers, riding mowers, fly mowers, weed eaters, edgers, and other lawn maintenance equipment in the maintenance of grass areas. - Mows greens, tees, and collars. - Trims trees and shrubs of all sorts using hedge cutters, pruners, saws, etc. - Plants and transplants trees, shrubs, etc. - Plants grass using mulching machine or by hand. - Performs daily maintenance of tools, equipment, and machines. - Performs all the duties of a Greenskeeper I in the maintenance of landscaped areas. - Performs miscellaneous sod jobs, drainage projects, limited landscape construction work, etc. - Performs spot spraying of pesticides. - Performs other duties as required. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: - Skills/Knowledge: Ability to use all hand tools, power tools, and equipment described above; ability to work in a team; driver's license required. - Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent required. - Experience: Some experience in grounds maintenance desired. WORKING CONDITIONS & DEMANDS: - Equipment Use: Most equipment and tools used on a golf course, including but not limited to, pick, shovel, hoe, broom, hoses, wheelbarrow, axe, knife, rake, utility vehicle, mower, weed eater, chain saw, fly mow, sand pro, fertilizer spreader, spot sprayer, etc. - Work Hours: 40 hour work week, daylight hours, seven days a week, some overtime required. - Physical Demands: Lifting and carrying up to 80 pounds; considerable walking, bending, reaching, crouching, pushing, pulling, riding, driving; occasional sitting and standing. - Mental Demands: Basic math to include addition and subtraction of fractions; must be able to read and write; must be alert when operating or around machinery; some independent judgment in performance of duties. - Communication Demands: Ability to read and write; must be able to understand and give verbal and written instructions; must be able to communicate with coworkers.
