Your $25 membership fee will enable you to attend this conference as well as access recordings of all events from 2020-2021. Thinking Forward….Finding Solid Ground will feature Keynote speaker Karin Chenoweth. While many children learned a great deal last year, many others will have gaps in their learning. This means that uncertainty looms over the next school year. All of this argues that educators should return to solid ground and focus on the basics: What do children need to learn? When do they need to learn it? How can educators teach it? How do they know if children learned it? And how can they expose and learn from the expertise of their colleagues so that they can improve their instruction? In this session, Karin Chenoweth will share what she has learned from high-performing and improving schools and districts that serve children of color and children from low-income families. We will also be joined by Gwyndolynn Strong for 90 Minute Magic and Kristen Perez-Rickels - for Leveraging System-Level Data to Improve Student Outcomes The mission of The Reading League-Oklahoma is to increase the knowledge, understanding, and use of evidence-based literacy practices across the state so that all students can learn to read. We are excited to have this group where dedicated educators, parents, and others who are interested in helping students read can come together to learn with one another so that all students can be successful.
