Join Artist Renée from Hopscotch Art for Modern Calligraphy 101 in Our Creative Workshop Space at Curate Mercantile! MODERN CALLIGRAPHY 101 Would you like to learn to create beautiful letters with brush pen markers? Then this workshop is for you! In this class, Renée Reese, owner of Hopscotch Art, will teach you the basics of brush pen calligraphy as well as share her tips and techniques from years of professional experience. This workshop will introduce you to using brush pens, creating basic strokes, and then letters and words. You’ll receive a kit to keep that contains everything you'll need to begin your lettering journey during the workshop and to continue the practice with it at home. Included in the workshop are practice papers, lettering guides and Renée's favorite duo of brush pens. So grab a cup of coffee or tea, maybe a friend or two and join us for a morning of creativity in an encouraging and joyful environment. Isn’t it time you did something just for you?! Please note that part of the workshop will require getting up close together to view the project in progress from your instructor so you may feel more comfortable bringing along a facemask to wear during this portion of the class. Workspaces are socially distanced and the class is limited to eight attendees. DATE: Saturday, September 18th from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. PRICE (all materials included): $65 per person includes hands-on instruction and all materials and supplies to use during the class. ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR: Renée Reese is the artist behind ‘Hopscotch Art’ watercolor paintings, calligraphy and greeting cards, which are featured at Curate Mercantile. It brings her great joy to share her talents with others so that they can create their own masterpieces! You'll love her cheerful attitude and helpful encouragement to guide you. CANCELLATION POLICY: Curate Mercantile workshops are built around solopreneurs, makers and small business owners. We are committed to offering you an amazing and fun experience, so we need your help to make our community work. Most events must meet an established minimum set by the workshop host to move forward. If the minimum is not met 72 hours in advance of the event start time, the event will be automatically canceled and all registered guests will be refunded to their original form of payment. You will be notified if this occurs. We understand that things come up, which may cause you to change your plans. You may request a refund of your registration more than 7 days in advance of the workshop. We are unable to grant refunds less than 7 days in advance of the paid workshop.
