We are buzzing with excitement over Honey Bee Day. There will be live music, food trucks, up-cycling crafts for kids, giveaways and more!
We love bees —and all pollinators —at Baseline. As Colorado’s first pollinator district, we’re celebrating these tiny powerhouses, essential to our well-being and our planet’s health, on Saturday, August 21.
Make a beeline to The Basin when Bluegrass Blitz gets things buzzing at 10 AM. At noon, guitar duo Skanson & Hansen picks up the beat until 2 PM. They provide the perfect soundtrack for this festive event, where you can learn about bees and beekeeping from Brighton Bee Club. Observe hive life up close at their enclosed beehive. Then peruse bee-friendly products, such as honey and skincare, from The Bee Store and Sarai’s Moisture Bars. Stroll through the pollinator Art Garden, hosted by Broomfield Council on the Arts & Humanities. And learn the value of becoming a pollinator district, where thoughtful, sustainable community design increases and enhances habitat for pollinators.
Kids can have their faces painted and create upcycled crafts, like bee drinking stations and mason bee houses wit hour partners from Sustainable Broomfield.
With so much to see and do, you are sure to work up an appetite. Pick up lunch from Coast2Coast food truck. And top off the day with a root beer float or fun-flavored ice cream from Sweet Cow’s MooMobile.
This event is free, and registration is encouraged.
