Montrose Farms is pleased to partner with Hopwood Cellars Winery of Zionsville for Wine Tasting with the Alpacas on Saturday, Sept. 4, from 1-4 pm. Established in 1994, Hopwood Cellars produces award-winning wines from premium grapes grown in Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. They will have a selection of wines onsite for sampling, along with wine for sale by the glass and by the bottle. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy a glass of wine while you watch the alpacas graze. Montrose Farms Alpaca Ranch was established in 2007 on the site of the former James Brown farm, the area’s first white settlement for whom the town is named. We raise show-winning suri alpacas and host classes, events and overnight guests. Merchandise made from alpaca fleece will be available for purchase. This is a “21 and over” event: IDs are required. Montrose Farms is an historic farm in Hendricks County, founded by the man who gave his name to Brownsburg. Animals are raised with the utmost care and are never butchered, as the owner has a strict code of ethics regarding animal life. The farm now hosts events, tours and B&B guests.
