Yonkers Pride presents a FREE Beginners Vogue Workshop. Join Maleek Milan for an introduction to Vogue-Femme. This famous dance category was born out of New York's ballroom scene, as seen on popular televised shows like POSE on FX. Maleek has real-life ball competition experience and will show you how to channel your feminine power through vogue. This hour-long Voguing workshop is designed for all ages and abilities. Participants will learn the fundamentals of Vogue Dancing. Each class will begin with a warm-up. Please arrive at 2:30pm so the class can begin promptly at 3pm. About Maleek: Maleek is an alumnus of Purchase College in Conservatory of Dance and with a Bachelors in Fine Arts. Before then, they have trained at Brooklyn High School of the Arts and Manhattan Youth Ballet. Maleek has recently appeared in Legendary on HBO Max. Maleek has danced in Dance Africa, Purchase Dance Company, and has recently appeared in Season 2 of Legendary on HBO Max. They have performed works by Marcus Jarrell Willis, Eugene Louis Faccuito, Sara “Primary” Lieck, Jason A. Rodriguez, and Breton Tyner Bryan.
