Description

Join us on August 19th, 2021 ABA Luncheon at the Drury Inn. Our guest speaker will be Erik Olejarczyk, former Prinicipal at Olympic High School and new Principal at Olympic Relief High School. Erik was born and raised in Cleveland, OH. In 2003, he earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education, from the University of Akron. His career in education began in 2004 as a biology teacher at Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Erik obtained his master’s degree in curriculum and supervision from University of North Carolina Charlotte in 2009. In 2010, Erik was selected to be in the 10th cohort of the New Leaders of New Schools principal preparation program. Only 6% of applicants are selected to this distinguished and nationally recognized program. After transitioning to educational leadership, Erik has served the Steele Creek community for over 8 years. In 2018, he was selected to recombine The Olympic Community of Schools back into a comprehensive high school. Under his leadership of Olympic, as a comprehensive high school, the graduation rate exceeded over 90%, all 5 career academies received a “distinguished” rating, students “exceeded growth” on end of course exams, and Olympic received a “B” rating from the North Carolina Department of Instruction. Most recently, Erik was selected to open the Olympic Relief High School, which will open its doors in the summer of 2022. Erik is a collaborative, student-centered and results-oriented educator who is excited about the opportunity to continue to serve the families and students of the Steele Creek Community.
