I graduated from the University of Florida in 1974 with a degree in Anthropology. (Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude, Departmental Honors) I studied many ancient cultural belief systems while getting my degree in Anthropology and as we all know, that for whatever reasons, certain things just ‘speak to you’. My main interest in Anthropology has always been with evolution and the development of consciousness. In recent years, I have created a body of work that centers on sacred symbols from religions and metaphysical thought. Not only from all cultures of the world but also from ancient beliefs which still resonate today. Each Sacred Symbol is created by hand, one at a time by me, using earthenware clay. I first take a hand full of clay and shape it. When I get the piece shaped the way I want it I then impress a symbol that I have made into the clay. Small variations in handmade artwork are what give each piece its own 'charm'. These are not manufactured in some plant by a robotic machine and that is readily apparent when holding them. They truly have that unique warmth of hand about them that can only come from the individual attention and care they receive during the creative process. Because each Sacred Symbol is created by hand, one at a time, there is a slight size variation among them. They range from 10 to 12 ounces ( 284 to 340 gm) and are approximately 3.5 to 4 inches (8.9 to 10.2 cm) across. We are a vibrant and inclusive community of seekers, artists, healers, and spiritual social activists we welcome all. We teach a positive, practical, and progressive approach to spirituality. Our spiritual campus features a spiritual education program, a prayer ministry, a bookstore, support groups and a variety of events, activities, and classes throughout the week.
