NORTH ANDOVER, MA — North Andover was recently named a Purple Heart Community and will celebrate the designation with a proclamation reading on Saturday, Purple Heart Day. The Select Board proclaimed the town a Purple Heart Community at their July 12 meeting, with a unanimous vote. The proclamation reading will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday on the Town Common. The Purple Heart flag will be flown in town each Aug. 7, Purple Heart Day.
