PORT CHESTER, NY — Before you know it, the 2021-22 school year will be starting.
The first day of classes for the Portchester-Rye Union Free school district is Thursday, Sept. 2. Whether or not you and your children are looking forward to the new school year, you will want to write down the dates in your calendar as soon as possible.
Here is the full list of dates to know for the 2021-22 school year:

6/14-22 Regents exams 6/20 Juneteenth (observed) 6/22-24 Noon dismissal elementary and middle 6/23 Regents rating day 6/24 Last day of school/HS Graduation Emergency closing days will be any days that schools are closed due to weather or emergencies. For the first three emergency closing day, schools will be closed and there will be no changes to the calendar. If permitted by NYSED, remote instruction will start beginning with the the fourth emergency closing day. If not permitted by NYSED, starting with the fourth emergency closing day, make-up days will occur in the following order: 3/15, 4/18, 4/11, 4/12, 4/13, and 4/14. If fewer than three emergency days are used, schools will be closed on May 27.
