Description
PORT CHESTER, NY — Police cracked down in recent days on so-called "quality of life issues," including drinking in public parks and loud music.
The 3-day, plain clothes undertaking netted more than 35 citations. Authorities say the sting was in response to complaints from neighbors about the public nuisance crimes.
"Hopefully the message will be heard, that our parks and surrounding streets are for everyone to enjoy and respect each other," police said announcing the results of the undercover operation.
Authorities said they have plans for similar enforcement details in the near future if complaints from the community continue.
