Description
We are a family owned construction company located in Mobile Alabama. We preform ground up builds, additions and major renovations within the residential construction market as well as light construction within the commercial market in the Gulf Coast area. We are in search of a candidate who possesses the knowledge, experience and motivation to manage our construction department, seek out opportunities for growth and elevate the company to the next level.
The following are some examples of day to day tasks for this position
• Manage all aspects of construction/reconstruction from design to coordination of schedules, inspections during various construction phases, monitoring permits, and daily oversight of subcontractors/employees and project progress
• Manage RFI’s, change orders and any other deviations from original scope of work
• Generate job profit/loss reports
• Establish and maintain each project's Scope of Work i.e., schedules, goals, and fundamentals, budget scope, schedule constraints, etc.
• Obtain subcontractor estimates and bids, plan material and purchase orders, ensure work is within project scope, and manage subcontractors' progress against plan
• Identify potential roadblocks and develop strategies to mitigate the impact
• Collect data such as material cost and employee hours in order to generate job cost reports
• Keep detailed notes on contractors and subcontractors to build the bench
• Work proficiently in and manage project management software (JobNimbus)
• Vendor price negotiations for non-standardized items, including establishing accounts
• Communicate status of all projects on a weekly basis to internal and external shareholders
• Participate in site surveys and generate proposals from information gathered
• Maintain Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement throughout Construction Department
• Push invoicing to meet quarterly growth milestones
