ARLINGTON, MA — The U.S. men's soccer team won its seventh Gold Cup title on the back – or rather, the head – of Arlington native Miles Robinson. Robinson scored on a header in the 117th minute of the Final, lifting the men's team to a 1-0 victory over Mexico Sunday night. The United States is tied with Mexico for the most wins across 15 Gold Cup tournaments. Robinson, an Arlington High School graduate, played college soccer at Syracuse, where he was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year in 2016. The 24-year-old defender is in his fourth season with Major League Soccer's Atlanta United. The goal to clinch the Gold Cup was Robinson's second of the tournament.
