BOWIE, MD — The Bowie Police Department on Monday announced that it will pay $500 to anybody who refers a successful officer candidate. Referrers will collect their payments after their endorsee completes the hiring process. The new officers will be eligible for a signing bonus of $3,000 to $9,000. "Now more than ever it is vital for our community to be part of the process of shaping the way it is served," Chief John Nesky said in a press release. "The future of policing begins now and it begins with our community." The new recruitment strategy will phase in over the next few months. More information is available here. We're pleased to finally share our $500 referral incentive to anyone (yes, anyone!) who refers a candidate to our agency & is hired on! Noble. Passionate. Exemplary. Committed.
