PRINCETON. NJ - A fire broke out at Princeton Theological Seminary early Tuesday morning. The structure on fire was Lennox House, which includes offices. No civilian or fighter injuries were reported, officials said. The campus building is primarily used for faculty offices, seminary officials said in a Facebook post. "The building was empty at the time of the fire and no one was injured. We thank the Princeton Police and Fire departments and other first responders," seminary officials said in the post. On Tuesday around 5:11 am, Princeton Theological Seminary Security called the Princeton Police Department to report a fire at 31 Library Place, said Michael Yeh director of the Department of Emergency & Safety Services. Police dispatched the Princeton Fire Department and the Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad to the site. On arrival, firefighters saw a fire blazing through the roof and on the 3rd floor. The fire reached 2 alarms. Princeton Plasma Physics FD, Plainsboro, Princeton Junction, Rocky Hill, Kingston, Lawrenceville, Hopewell, Montgomery 1 & 2, and Monmouth Junction in addition to a recall of the career staff responded to the scene and helped in firefighting efforts. The fire was placed under control at 7:11 a.m. Chief Thomas Johnson led fire suppression efforts. The fire currently remains under investigation and the investigation is being led by Director of Emergency Services Michael Yeh, Fire Marshal Joseph Novak, PPD Det. Sgt. Benjamin Gering and the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office. Founded in 1812, by the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church, Princeton Theological Seminary is one of the oldest seminaries in the United States.
