Press release from Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce: August 2, 2021 An Irving museum that explores the history of the African-American experience, from emancipation to the Civil Rights movement, is temporarily closing for extensive repairs. Beginning Aug. 1, the Jackie Townsell Bear Creek Heritage Center, 3925 Jackson St., will shut down as crews complete exterior and interior work on the museum's three structures.
