SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — Various projects in San Mateo County are set to receive $6 million in federal funding after requests from Congresswoman Jackie Speier, who represents the 14th District. The recipients are: Brisbane Affordable Housing Rehabilitation ($495,000) Burlingame Community Center Photovoltaic (PV) Panel Project ($900,000) Caltrain Mini-High Ramps ($460,000) Economic Mobility Resource Hub ($500,000) Hope Services' Mental Health Services Expansion ($159,036) Maple Street Navigation Center ($500,000) Millbrae Water Recycling Project ($800,000) O'Connor Stormwater Management ($800,000) US 101/SR 92 Area Improvement Project ($1,000,000) In a statement, Rep. Speier said that the funds are part of "bold, sweeping measures to invest in a better and bright future." "By focusing on affordable housing, environmental stewardship and climate change, accessibility for the disabled, infrastructure, and job training and mental health services, these projects will directly impact the needs and lives of my constituents and will be key to ensuring our government serves the people, not the personal interests of a select, wealthy few," Speier said. Funds for the projects passed the U.S. House of Representatives as part of a bill containing a package of appropriation bills to fund the federal government.
