PITTSBURGH, PA — Changes to the Steelers broadcast team were announced Tuesday, with sideline analyst Craig Wolfley being named the team's new color analyst. He will replace Tunch Ilkin, who is battling ALS and retired in June after 23 seasons. Wolfley had been sideline analyst since 2002. He will be replaced there by former Steelers offensive lineman Max Starks, who served in a similar role with Westwood One football coverage. The changes were announced by iHeartMedia, which owns the Steelers radio broadcast rights and flagship station WDVE-FM. Veteran play-by-play announcer Bill Hillgrove and sideline reporter Missi Matthews will remain in their current roles. Starks also will join Wolfley as co-host of "In The Locker Room," a daily, in-season radio program airing from 10 a.m. to noon on weekdays on ESPN 970 AM and on iHeartRadio's digital Steelers Nation Radio. The entire broadcast team will also contribute to "The Point After," a weekly program that airs the evening after Steelers games on WDVE and SNR.
