Description
LOS ANGELES, CA — Los Angeles firefighters made quick work of a small brush fire near Mulholland Drive in Brentwood Tuesday afternoon
The quarter-acre blaze was reported at about 1:30 p.m. in the 16200 block of West Mulholland Drive east of Bel-Air Church, according to a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange. The fire was burning amid heavy brush driven by light wind gusts, said Prange.
Crews were able to douse the flames within 25 minutes to protect nearby schools, a church, and homes, added Prange.
"LAFD Crew 3 volunteer wildland firefighters continue to improve containment lines around the perimeter of the extinguished fire's footprint," Prange said. "Crews will remain on scene to ensure there are no remaining hot spots."
No structures were damaged by the fire, and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the brush fire is under investigation.
