BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt. ARRESTS DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED/REVOKED DRIVER'S LICENSE Michael E. Williams, 26, of the 2200 block of Nichols and Arlington Heights roads, is accused of driving on a suspended/revoked license, lighted lamps violation, and was arrested at 3 p.m. July 13 in Arlington Heights. He was assigned a court date of Aug. 13. ATTEMPTED FLEEING/ELUDING POLICE Rohan Durai, 18, 5000 block of Teal Lane, Long Grove, is accused of attempted fleeing/eluding police in a motor vehicle, driver's license classification violation, speeding more than 35 mph, traffic signal violation, and was arrested at 4:58 p.m. July 13 at Columbia Parkway and N Milwaukee Avenue. He was assigned a court date of Aug. 16. DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE Steven Michael Barros, 29, of the 1100 block of Windbrooke Drive, Buffalo Grove, is accused of driving under the influence, speeding over the statutory limit 26-34 mph, disobeying a traffic control device, and was arrested at 9:45 p.m. July 27 at Dundee and Arlington Heights roads. He was assigned a court date of Aug. 18. LAST WEEK: Real Estate Agent Finds Unknown Woman In Sold Property INCIDENTS IDENTITY THEFT A Chase Court resident reported at 5:40 a.m. July 23 that someone tried to open a credit card using their information. The application was denied. NEIGHBORHOOD TROUBLE A resident in the 100 block of Willow Parkway called police at 8 a.m. July 23 to report someone allows their dog to excrement in their yard and does not pick it up. LANDLORD/MANAGEMENT DISPUTE An officer stood by at 6 p.m. July 22 while the previous tenant searched for a bag that was thought to be left at the residence after moving out in the 300 block of Vintage. CUSTOMER/MANAGEMENT DISPUTE A resident in the 0-100 block of Mohawk Drive reported at 10:29 a.m. July 30 they had prepaid a landscaper to do some yard work, but they did not show up. The landscaper told the resident they could come another day, but the resident just wants a refund.Officers mediated a dispute at 3:50 p.m. July 28 between two parties on the cost of installing two toilets and two new bidets in the 100 block of W Fabish Drive. A customer and moving company in the 800 block of E Deerfield Parkway had a dispute at 8:04 p.m. July 25 over a form of payment. The payment was made and the movers relocated the complainant's belongings from their truck to the storage unit. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT A person called police at 6:37 p.m. July 30 to report that while stopped at a red light, a vehicle pulled up next to her and the driver offered to fix a dent she had in her front bumper. She did not believe she had any dents and refused to pull over as the driver had requested. THEFT An employee at Everything Games, 344 W Half Day Road, reported at 4 p.m. July 30 someone stole his cell phone, valued at more than $500. ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY A resident in the 1000 block of Alden Lane called police at midnight, July 29, to report two large branches broke off a neighbor's tree during the storm and damaged their patio furniture and flowerpots.A customer of Aldi Foods, 1202 W Dundee Road, reported at 8:30 p.m. July 27, that his vehicle had been damaged while he was shopping. Officers noted the damage was seen on the trunk, right tail lights and rear quarter panel. BURGLARY An employee at Lux Cars Chicago, 88 E Dundee Road, reported at 2:35 a.m. July 29 someone broke into the service bay and stole a vehicle. ANIMAL COMPLAINT A corn snake was caught at 1:47 p.m. July 28 in the 1100 block of Lockwood Court West and taken to Lake County Animal Care & Control. FALSE SENSE TO PROCURE CREDIT CARD A Sheridan Road resident called police at 6:43 p.m. July 28 to report a fraudulent charge was made on their credit card. DISTURBANCE Officers responded at 9:02 p.m. July 25 to a report of a numerous people arguing and fighting in the parking lot of Astoria Banquets, 1375 W Dundee Road. Everything was calm upon police arrival and they were told the "troublemakers" had already left. SUSPICIOUS PERSON A resident in the 700 block of Penny Lane reported at 8 a.m. July 27 seeing a male wearing an orange safety vest walking around the outside of his house. The person claimed to be reading the meter, but did not have an ID visible or any identifying sings on his vehicle. A juvenile reported at 10:05 a.m. July 27 that he was riding his bike in the 0-100 block of Columbus Parkway when a male exited his vehicle and approached him. The juvenile road away, and the vehicle and man were gone upon police arrival. THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE A resident in the 800 block of Newport Court called police at 11:30 a.m. July 27 to report someone stole a leaf blower and trimmer out of the back of a pile-up truck while the truck owner was doing landscape work. DUMPING An officer saw a person at 9:44 p.m. July 27 throwing items away in the dumpster at Aptaksic School, 1231 Weiland Road. The person was advised that he could not utilize the dumpsters and he removed the items. Stay Patched In!
