Teen Jogger Attacked In Culver City; Suspect Sought

CULVER CITY, CA — A 17-year-old jogger was attacked by a man who followed her on a bicycle in Culver City, police said this week. The assault happened about 10 a.m. Friday near National Boulevard and Wesley Street, according to the Culver City Police Department. The victim was running north along the bike path near National Boulevard when she noticed the suspect riding his bicycle behind her, police said. "The suspect seemed to be intently watching her, while one of his hands was in his pants, possibly committing a lewd act," police said in a statement. The victim was scared and tried to run away when she was hit in the head with an unknown object, police said. She fell down and lost consciousness. She regained consciousness and saw the suspect riding away north onto National Boulevard. She was taken to a hospital and treated for a serious but non-life-threatening head injury. The suspect was described as a Latino man with short black hair, a thin build, and wearing a black sweatshirt and camouflage sweatpants. He had a black bike. No further suspect information was available.
