BEVERLY HILLS, CA — A Beverly Hills Police Department chase ended with a head-on collision in Century City Monday. Beverly Hills police officials allege the suspect "intentionally" drove into oncoming traffic, resulting in the head-on crash between a truck and sedan.
The crash occurred at about 10:45 a.m. in the 1800 block of South Century Park East, and the suspect was taken into custody on suspicion of reckless driving, according to the Beverly Hills Police Department.
"Earlier today, we were in pursuit of a reckless driver who failed to yield to officers. Our units were led to Century City where the suspect had intentionally drove their vehicle head-on onto oncoming traffic," the Beverly Hills Police Department tweeted. "The suspect exited the vehicle after the crash and was placed under arrest where he was transported to our jail."
Paramedics were sent to the location, but did not transport any patients, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
The brief chase began when the driver allegedly failed to yield to police officers. Authorities with the police department declined multiple Patch requests to clarify what triggered the chase and the moments leading up to the crash in Century City.
Police officials also did not immediately release information about the suspect.
