Press release from the Atlanta Police Department: 08/02/2021 212140992 Preliminary Information: On 8/2/21, around 2:07 pm, officers responded to an auto accident with injuries at the location of Northside Dr. SW and McDaniel ST SW. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicles and persons involved in the collision. Two male drivers sustained injuries and were treated on scene by Grady EMS. One female passenger involved in the collision sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Preliminary investigation indicates the driver at fault (Driver 1) was traveling Northbound and attempted to make a left turn when he collided with Driver 2 who was traveling Southbound. A female passenger occupying Driver 2's vehicle was ejected as a result. Officers currently have the driver at fault detained for driving without a valid license. Driver 2 has been detained at this time on separate pending charges as the investigation continues.  Please keep in mind the above information is preliminary in nature and can change as the investigation progresses and new information comes to light.
