Looking for a General Labor who is mechanically inclined and possibly knows how to drive a forklift although not required. Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Operate yard truck to move containers within the yard. • Assist in loading and unloading of containers and ensuring proper handling. • Unload railcars following proper procedures. • Inspect airlines, brakes and tires under the trailer for pre- and post-trip inspections. • Perform preventative maintenance inspections, oil changes, chassis lubrication and identifying worn and damaged parts. • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crews as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned. • Check vehicles before operating to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. • Adhere to safety and company polices • Assist in the yard as needed (clean yard and dock, help loaders, run errands). • Work well with others and follow instructions from supervisor. Requirements: • Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. • Must be able to lift and hold up to 50 pounds. • Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions required. • Climbing, stepping, and reaching to ascend up and down the chassis or frame of a truck or trailer (approx. 4-5 feet). • Sitting, squatting, bending and kneeling, twisting of body and torso.
