RESPONSIBILITIES
The Survey Instrument Person will work as a member of a survey crew whose responsibilities include the following:
• involvement in a wide variety of surveys including right-of-way, boundary, topography, ALTA, and construction for both private and public clients
• operation and maintenance of survey equipment, recording detailed field notes, data collection, performing calculations, and working with and daily communication with Places Associates staff and project clients
• in-office reduction of survey data, performing calculations, copying/filing of all data, and preparation of survey drawings using AutoCAD and additional design software
• evaluation of site safety before performing site-work, ensuring that crew members follow Places Associates’ safety policy and use of required personal protection equipment
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• high school diploma or equivalent required
• ability to work in all types of weather conditions
• one or more years working as part of a land survey crew or experience working outdoors tools or instruments.
• proven ability to work in a team environment
• strong work ethic and accountability required
• a valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Massachusetts for project assignments
• ability to pass a CORI check (Criminal Offender Record Information)
