SUMMARY: The Canvasback Seasonal Truck Driver will be responsible for timely trips to Red Mountian AVA and other vineyard areas to deliver bins, pick up deliveries of harvested grapes, and the potential for some vineyard sampling. The estimated time frame for this position is September 10th through October 15th. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (90%) Truck Driving • Timely arrivals in the morning • Safely drive a 20 ft Ford F650 flatbed • Strap down loads of empty bins, full bins and miscellaneous items • Execute bin deliveries to vineyards and custom crush facilities • Execute grape deliveries from vineyards to winery (10%) Vineyard Sampling, Sample Processing, Sorting • Randomly sample vineyard block for maturity tests • Process samples for tasting and testing grape maturity • Assist with sorting fruit on the crush pad during crush days QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: • Valid driver’s license and clean MVR • Good eyesight naturally or with corrective lenses or contacts • Ability to drive a flatbed truck and operate/learn to operate truck strap and ratchet system • Punctuality and ability to work extended hours if needed • Upbeat demeanor • Regularly required to talk and hear, stand, walk, bend, kneel and crouch • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus • Ability to lift upwards of 50 lbs. • Ability to hurl truck straps with great might and accuracy About Us The Duckhorn Portfolio is North America’s premier luxury wine company, with ten renowned wineries, eight state-of-the-art winemaking facilities, seven beautiful tasting rooms and more than 800 coveted acres of vineyards spanning 22 sustainably farmed Estate properties.
