Description
We are a gigging ALL 90s cover currently looking to replace our FEMALE VOCALIST who will be leaving the band in the next few weeks.
Like all the bands that existed pre-pandemic, we're working to get our legs under us. We've played a few shows and have a few on the calendar. Hoping we can keep building momentum through this transition.
Essential details:
The Band: A five-piece outfit (female vocalist, male vocalist/rhythm guitar, bass, drums, and, of course, lead guitar). We try to be serious about what we're doing, but not so serious that we forget to have fun. We put on a fun show, playing ALL 90s music -- rock, pop, grunge, and even some country and hip hop on occasion. This is a band that can play both Nirvana and the Spice Girls in the same set. We've played shows all over the DMV, mostly in NoVA and DC. We're all between mid-30s and mid-40s, and we practice as often as we have to in order to be ready to perform. Sometimes that's multiple times a week -- if we're bringing a sub or new member up to speed -- other times its once or twice a month, if every member and setlist are good to go. We don't shoot to copy every song directly from the radio, we put our own stank on just about everything, except when doing so would be blasphemous (example: You're not going to improve on the guitar solo on "Smells Like Teen Spirit," so why even try?).
You: Someone who likes what they're seeing above and is ready to fit in. That includes liking the idea of performing in an ALL 90s band and the genres listed. Experienced enough to be confident fronting a band with gusto. Willing/able to switch between singing leads and harmonies would be a plus. Ability to play some keys every now and again is probably a pipe dream, but would also be a plus.
Please respond -- preferably with some clips, recordings, etc. -- if you're interested.
