OUR COMPANY Portland based company Grow and Make is in the business of designing, producing and supplying DIY kits. We have been a competitive business for 12 years, with solid growth each year. This summer we’re seeking some additional help. We’re interested in hiring temporary employment for individuals who can pace themselves throughout a work day, show flexibility, have a keen sense for detail, and can be self directed as well as team oriented. THE JOB Our main focus this summer is production of our DIY kits. Jobs include: -Working with the team in an assembly line building kits -Packaging and labeling boxes and packets of product -Printing labels and instruction booklets, sealing, -Basic setup and clean up, and other random small tasks. SCHEDULE & PAY The starting pay is $14 an hour. The schedule we are hiring for is Wednesday through Friday 9am - 5pm, starting right away. These hours are not guaranteed, and the hours could be more or less than this guideline, but will always be Monday - Friday. We generally keep the same schedule, but some changes should be expected the closer we get to December, which is our busiest month of the year. Those with the greatest flexibility will be highly sought after, due to the unknown restrictions that could be put on manufacturing between now and the new year. POSSIBLE LONG TERM Grow and Make always considers the prospect of full time employment for those who exceed in the production line, show enthusiasm for the company, and have additional qualifications. We do everything here from the ground up; from our kit design to our work implementations. We are very much DIY! Those with a knack in craft, design, or out of the box thinking will be considered for full time employment if the fit is right. We strive to keep shared surfaces as clean as possible, ample use of hand sanitizer, and wearing masks at all times when it was mandated by the government. REQUIREMENTS - Dependable, punctual, presentable, organized and task oriented self starter -Basic computer knowledge, such as navigating google drive, google sheets. Bonus if you have other useful computer skills that can be utilized with an e-commerce business such as ourselves. - Passionate about quality standards and willing to uphold and enforce those standards in a high volume environment - Motivated self starter with a detail oriented personality - Possess verbal communication skills that promote a positive and productive team environment - Ability to understand and adhere to food safety and sanitation protocols as well as company policies and procedures. You will be required to get a food handlers card if you don't already have one. - Ability to stand for 8 hours at a time - Ability to carry, push, and pull 30 lbs, and lift heavier items with the help of a coworker Please apply if you are someone who is excited about working in a busy warehouse environment! This is a physical job, and many shifts can consist of hours of repetitive motion, such as capping 1000’s of bottles, labeling hundreds of packets, or stacking 1000’s of kits on pallets.
