AMS/Veon is a family/veteran owned small business that installs, sells, and repairs all types of mobility devices like ramps, lifts, wheelchairs, home, and vehicle modifications. AMSlifts.com Responsibilities: Assist in the installing and repair of mobility devices/modifications. That includes abilities such as: • Troubleshoot problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. • Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment; drill press, welder, etc. • Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt. • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges. • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Qualifications: We will train the right candidate with a construction/mechanical/electrical background. • Experience reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, mechanical drawings is helpful. • Experience troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns, diagnostics, electrical systems, lift/elevator systems, hydraulic systems, or air distribution systems • Proven experience as construction worker • Experience in operating equipment like trench rammers, drills, pneumatic hammers etc. • Knowledge of mixing and pouring construction material (concrete, sand, grout etc.) • Knowledge of basic engineering and construction principles and methods • Able to work in a team • Able to read instructions and blueprints when needed • Very good knowledge of English (spoken and written) • Excellent balance and eye-hand coordination • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
