Job Description The Landscape Center is looking for a Tree Trimmer to trim and maintain various size trees at our Riverside, CA tree growing grounds/nursery. This is a full time position that will require past tree trimming experience via aerial lift. Climbing experience is also preferred. The Tree Trimmer will assist the nursery manager in maintaining a healthy and robust tree inventory. You’ll also get to handle various power tools and large heavy equipment (such as tractors.) We’d like you to have the stamina and the ability to lift heavy loads. You should be able to concentrate on performing your tasks and commit to our safety rules. Responsibilities • Trim and maintain various size specimen trees • Assist nursery manager or other tradespeople on-site • Operate aerial lift within the nursery • Use power tools (chainsaws) and machinery (e.g. tractors) when needed • Follow instructions from nursery manager • Maintain the nursery in a clean and safe manner after trees are trimmed • Help with growing trees • Report tree health issues to nursery manager Requirements • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds etc.) • Good hand-eye coordination • Minimum of 1 year experience with trimming trees • Aerial lift operation • Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus • Nursery, landscape or farming experience is a plus • Communication and teamwork skills • Commitment to safety rules • Work schedule is 5 days a week (Monday – Friday) 8+ hours per day Qualified applicants only.
