Bainbridge Island CERT Basic Training Fall 2021 Thank you so much for registering to join the fall 2021 BICERT Basic class! Citizens like you are integral to our island's preparedness efforts and in responding to a local disaster or emergency situation. This class aims to raise resiliency, should we face a natural disaster or other such event requiring communities and individuals to work together before the emergency services arrive. We are looking forward to working with you throughout the class and would like to let you know a little more about what to expect during this course. The CERT Basic training will be held at Station 21 on the following dates, and attendance is required at each class to complete the course: October 9th 08:30 - 16:30 10th 08:30 - 16:00 16th 08:30 - 16:00 17th 08:30 - 15:30 The CERT Basic class is a nationally recognized program and has been implemented in many different ways throughout the Nation. It complements each communities uniqueness, building essential skills and capabilities to help these areas respond to their local requirements following an event. Here on Bainbridge Island, we are working towards a culture of preparedness, and CERT training is one method being implemented to move our community towards this goal. Along with the City of Bainbridge Island, Bainbridge Prepares and the Bainbridge Island Fire Department, volunteers within our community have made this program possible, and these volunteers will be your primary instructors throughout this course. Other community members and first responders will augment these teachings, serving as subject matter experts for various modules. They come from all walks of life, each with an interest in preparedness and skill building on both an individual and community level. Thank you, and we look forward to meeting you in class.
