Ugh. This feels cringy…but far less cringy than pursuing you in the moment. After I mentioned boating/jetskiing, you mentioned several times that you need to make friends with someone who has a boat so you can get out on the water. After the third time I finally said, “you’re welcome to join me.” Despite you saying, “that would be really nice,” your nervous laugh that preceeded it made me hesitate enough to not risk being awkward by actually giving you my number. I didn’t want to be THAT GUY that mistook friendliness and good bedside manner as more than it was. If it was more than that, send an email with the subject line including the location we talked about on the lake and the things you used to collect there. If you weren’t actually hinting at more, and it truly was just good bedside manner, thank you; you are awesome and incredible at your job. Fantastical, actually.
