The workshop will cover batteries, cabling, circuit protection, alternators and regulators, chargers, inverters, AC systems, and safety. In this one-day workshop you will learn how all the pieces of a boat's electrical system fit together. A blend of philosophy and technique, building and maintaining durable marine electrical systems requires the right parts and materials for the marine environment, and some basic knowledge about how to install and connect them. The seminar will cover batteries, cabling, circuit protection, alternators and regulators, chargers, inverters, AC systems, and safety. With a focus on hands-on techniques, you'll learn five simple and inexpensive improvements you can make to your boat's electrical system today. The Instructor: Circumnavigator Clark Beek is an ABYC-accredited marine electrician with a lifetime of experience in the marine industry. His family has owned and operated the historic Balboa Island Ferry for over 100 years, and he is now General Manager of the Spaulding Marine Center. $50, includes morning coffee and lunch. Spaulding Marine Center is a 501(C)(3) non-profit Foundation. The Spaulding Marine Center’s purpose is to preserve, restore and educate youth in traditional and modern boat works and to include the Community to volunteer and participate. We provide a number of Youth and Adult programs throughout the year based around sailing, woodworking, boatbuilding, boat maintenance and community events at our location at 600 Gate 5 Road Sausalito, CA 94965.
