BEYOND URGENT! GERMAN SHEPHERD WILL BE EUTHANIZED TOMORROW, TUE! FOSTER/ADOPTER NEEDED ASAP! Please call immediately if you can help . Help me live please! I am now set to be put down in shelter 8/3. Hi, I'm Potatoes. (I need to be an only dog at the present time.) Sadly, I am set to be euthanized tomorrow, August 3. One of the saddest reasons a dog can be E-listed is because they are stressed and struggling in the shelter environment. This is happening to me. It's sad how my behavior is affected in here. It is inhumane to keep me here in this condition…Can someone save my life? I am a 4-year-old, neutered, black and tan German Shepherd. The person that brought me to the shelter had me overnight. She said that I seemed stressed but was friendly, liked being petted, and hopped right into her car when she offered me treats. She also said that I barked and pulled on-leash when I saw another dog and that I “counter surfed”. Shelter medical notes said that I appeared underweight at intake, and I’m still working on gaining weight. During my dog-to-dog assessment, I was friendly with people and a bit pushy with dogs. Volunteers describe me as a “gentle giant” that leans in for petting and doesn’t mind having his muzzle scratched. They also said that I can be a little jumpy and grabby when I see treats but will “sit” when asked. I sometimes pull on a leash; but after a while, I relax and will walk by my handler. Some staff say that I react when they are near my food bowl, but others say that I have no reaction. This may result from being food deprived when I was a stray. The shelter recommends that I have an experienced adopter that understands my breed and can provide in-home training to help me be successful. The shelter requires that I be an only dog, that I meet all family members, and that children in the home be 12+. Can you please make appt to come and meet me? Hurry!
